Follow the steps below to ensure that your media player and screens are properly configured for RS-232 control.


Is the screen model compatible with RS-232?

 

Has a valid Screen Settings assignment been published to the player?

 

Is a null modem RS-232 cable being used?

 

Is a USB adapter being used? 

 

Is the RS-232 cable firmly connected to the player and connected to the IN port on the screen?

 

Is the RS-232 setting enabled in the screen's OSD menu?

 

Has the monitor ID been set on all screens?


Is the screen powered on?

 

Republish the Screen Settings assignment. Does the issue persist?

 

Power down the screens (rocker switch), power off the player. Turn all screens back on, then lastly power on the player. Does the issue persist?

 

Re-seat the RS-232 cable, ensuring that the cable is connected to the IN port on the screen and to a valid RS-232 port on the player. Reboot all devices. Does the issue persist?

 

Replace the RS-232 cable and/or adapter with a known working cable/adapter. Reboot all devices. Does the issue persist?
