A slot is a container for a media asset within a program or playlist. Programs and playlists are made up of a series of slots and each media asset fills a single slot. For example, a playlist with 5 images would have 5 slots. The first image in the playlist is in slot 1. The slots can be optionally swapped such that a playlist's initial image—contained in slot 1—may be moved to occupy the fifth slot. In doing so, the operator can manipulate the order in which media assets will play back.
